Planning: Audience Feedback

After coming up with a six second pitch and producing posts about which props and actors I was going to use for my music video, I decided to conduct a small interview with Sam Nix. A 17 year old student who has an interest in the music industry and also takes media, so knows what type of things are good and bad about my music video ideas and thoughts.

From the interview I was able to gather that Sam had taken a liking to my initial pitch and was eager for me to follow through with it and take it further. He thought that the song will let me express a wide range of emotions and feelings in it and the lyrics will also help to express these emotions if used correctly. He thought that the story line that is intended for the video would link well to the song as well which is also a good point. The then progresses to talk about my actors and actresses and says how they are all confident and feels they will all perform well in front of a camera. Finally, he explained how he likes the idea of using a breakaway sugar glass to recreate a bottle smashing. He thinks it is a lot safer and will still give a high amount of realism to the video.

Im glad I was able to get this interview with Sam as it has given me confidence to progress further with my video and start to explore a variety of different shots to help express feelings and emotions within the video. Off of the camera, he said how it would be good to use some POV (point of view) shots in the video, to give a first person view of what the character is going through. This is something which I will explore as it is a very appealing idea which will give a different and creative angle to my video.
