Planning: Props

Props are an essential part of a music video that can help to emphasise the theme buy using props that relate to this specific theme. As I am trying to capture a theme of alcohol and substance abuse, I will be using props such as spirit bottles and beer cans to help represent this. Also some powder which looks like cocaine and needles will feature throughout the video to help represent this as well.

I will primarily use these props whilst my main character is walking through the woods and around the lake. He will be pretending to drink the drinks whilst he is walking and will eventually smash when he throws it or try to smash it with his hands. This is yet to be decided.

I have been able to source a breakaway Sugar Glass wine bottle which will be able to smash very easily when it is thrown or hit with force. This will be a lot safer for me to use instead of a real bottle as it doesn't carry the same properties as actual glass due to it being made of sugar. It still has a transparent look to it which will still give a realistic view and can also hold liquids still, but will smash a lot easier and safer. The smash is very convincing which will also make the video seem even more realistic.
