Planning: Locations

For my music video I will be looking at using secluded locations like lakes and Forests to help reflect what the male character within my video is feeling. Even if a busy street was used with the male character just walking through everyone was used, this would still give the impression that he is lonely as no one will be paying attention to him or noticing him at all.

Locations like these will work very well as I will be able to shoot my video at pretty much whatever time I would like as there is a near by woodland area near to where I live and at Wicksteed Park, there is a lake which I can use to my advantage at various times. Wicksteed Park's lake also has path that leads all around the perimeter of the lake which is engrossed with long hanging trees and different vantage points which means a range of camera angles, shots and other techniques can be used to get the most out of this great location.

Brambleside Woods will also be a very good location due to it being so varied and scattered with trees that have been torn down naturally by nature and with a range of height which are on offer within the woods themselves. These will allow me to get high angle shots of the male character walking lonely through the forest and also low angle shots of him. Both of these shots will be able to show vulnerability as he could be close to the edge/nearly falling and also highlights how isolated he is. Nearby to the woods is also a broken down house which only has the outside brick remaining which could also become very useful. It is covered in graffiti and bright colours which links back to my target audience which may do forms of graffiti/art with such colours.

I will be using a spare room in my house to create a dark setting with a specific light to point up at the faces of Ellie and Georgia. This room will act as the male characters memory of the girls which will slowly start to dim and dim until it is completely gone by the end of the video. I will be able to ensure the room is completely black by drawing the curtains and turning of all lights which are capable of reaching the room.
